At ROEST, we greatly value customer feedback, particularly during product development. Recently, we had the opportunity to speak with Andreas Astrup, the CEO and Founder of ROAST Coffee in Copenhagen, Denmark. As a ROEST sample roaster customer, we were eager to hear his experiences as one of the first beta testers of the ROEST P3000.
Find the right solution for growth
ROAST Coffee roasts all its coffee in-house, which supplies the four coffee shops across Copenhagen. With a focus on sourcing only the best coffee beans from dedicated farmers and carefully roasting the beans to deliver to its customers in Denmark and beyond, it was important for the team to have better control over its roasting process and a way to increase production without losing flexibility. Due to these needs, Andreas looked for a production roaster like the ROEST P3000. With a roasting capacity for 1-3kg batch sizes, Andreas and the team can maintain the flexibility to roast smaller batches using multiple machines instead of relying on one large production roaster.
Delivering precision and consistency
We were eager to hear Andreas’ initial impressions after testing the P3000. He was quick to highlight the impressive consistency the machine provides. “It’s been amazing. We have much more control over the roast, and the consistency is impressive,” he shared. “As it’s a beta model there have, of course, been some ‘teething problems’, but everything has been taken care of fast and effectively. Most of the things have been fixed remotely with software updates.”
Smooth integration and easy operation
Andreas shared how the P3000 fits into their workflow and described the process as seamless. "Setting up a profile is effortless," he said. “The precision it offers allows us to fine-tune and tweak roast profiles for each coffee, ensuring we bring out the best in every bean—and with its ability to replicate each roast to perfection, we've been so impressed that we're already in discussion to purchase two more units."
He also praised the P3000's tool-free access for cleaning and maintenance, which minimizes downtime and keeps their production smooth and efficient.
Dependable support and future plans
Since Andreas and the team were working with a beta model, we asked about his experience with support. He couldn’t have been more positive. “The support has been fantastic–always fast, friendly, and effective,” he told us.
Looking ahead, Andreas is confident the P3000 will continue to improve their efficiency. “We’re hoping that adding multiple units with the upcoming automatic feeder system will take our production to the next level!”
Hearing about ROEST Coffee’s success with the P3000 has been inspiring, and we’re excited to continue supporting their journey toward even greater quality and efficiency.
