FAQ

+ When will units ordered now (2025) be shipped?

Units ordered in 2025 will likely start shipping Q4 2025. These units are made-to-order and Europe will be prioritized, as we are working on certifications.

+ When will the first units be shipped?

Note: this pertains to the first 50 units that were pre-ordered in 2024. For Europe, we are planning for the following:

  • Purchased in first pre-order batch shipping Q2 2025
  • Purchased in second pre-order batch shipping Q2 2025
  • Purchased in third pre-order batch shipping Q3 2025

For outside of Europe, we are unsure of the timing right now, as we are working on certifications. We appreciate your patience as we work on the European version first and we will be in touch with updates by Q2 2025.

+ What is the price of the P3000?

The current P3000 price is 32,900 EUR or 34,900 USD.

+ What kind of warranty is included?

The P3000 will include a standard warranty including parts only for 1 year. Please see our terms and conditions for more information.

+ Where is it made?

ROEST P3000 is designed, engineered, and manufactured in our headquarters in Oslo, Norway, with the highest levels of quality control.

+ What is the capacity of the P3000?

The roaster's usual capacity is 1–3 kg. You can roast less than 1kg (a minimum of 0.5 kg); however, the bean temperature measurement will be affected.

+ What is the technology for the roasting method?

The P3000 is a stirred-drum air roaster. Almost all the heat transfer happens via convection, which can heat beans evenly and quickly without burning the surface. The roasting environment is tightly controlled with multiple sensors to maximize consistency and control.

+ What are the dimensions of the P3000?

Approximate dimensions are H 807 x W 445 x D 907 mm without a hopper. It’s about the same size as a 2 group espresso machine.

+ How long does a typical roast take?

We give the user total control of the roasting time so the times vary. But a full batch should take less than 7 minutes and it can be as quick as 5 minutes to first crack.

+ What is the power consumption?

For a 230V 16A 3-Phase configuration, the power consumption is ~9.9kW at full power (less in regular use). The P3000 will consume only 0.25 kWh per kilogram of coffee.

+ What are the maintenance and cleaning requirements?

The machine is designed to be easy to clean and maintain. The main areas to clean are the bean cooler and filters, the ventilation system, the cyclone, and the chaff collection system.

Chaff is separated via an internal cyclone connected to a compression screw and extruded out of the back of the machine into a container. The chaff container can be switched out as needed between batches without having to turn the machine off.

+ What support is provided for technical servicing requirements?

This is the same as we always provide; you will gain lifetime support from our team in Norway, who will guide you through any maintenance or servicing required. We are also working on a network of independent technicians who will be able to support you as well if you don’t want to carry out maintenance work.

The machines will ship with some essential spare parts and tools already included. Parts will also be available from us in Norway and from our P3000 partners around the world.

+ Does the P3000 work without an internet connection?

Yes, you can roast offline and store the data on the P3000. When you reconnect to WIFI, you can sync the roast logs and download profiles on the web portal.

+ Can a profile be transferred from the ROEST sample roaster to the P3000?

There is no simple way to take a profile from any roaster and replicate it on a different one. With the data available, you will be able to make an informed decision when creating a roast profile for your production roast from the roast profile on the sample roaster. We plan to create tools in the future to assist with this process.

+ Will the P3000 include pre-installed or downloadable profiles?

Yes, there will be some sample profiles available for you to try.

+ Can profiles be shared?

Yes, public profiles are available on the online shared library. You can also share profiles directly with other users without posting them to the public library.

+ What’s included in the software packages

Core software includes everything you need to roast: Live view, creating and sharing profiles, profile library, and roast log. The advanced subscription will include additional features such as inventory management, AI-assisted roasting, and QC tools and more. Advanced features are currently under development.

+ What is the expected production volume per hour (including between batch time?)

A full batch takes less than 7 minutes, so the output is around 25+ kg per hour, or 500+ kg per week all with only 5 minutes of labor per hour.

+ What are the installation requirements for the ROEST P3000?

We have created a handy guide for those interested in learning more about installation requirements.

+ When will the add-ons be available?

The after burner and automatic feeder add-ons are currently under development. The after burner should be complete by the end of 2025.
